Borghese

I'd heard of Borghese from my mooching around the internet and nail blogs but had never seen it in store or in the online shops I peruse for polishes. However, good old Raven Cosmetics has yet another lucky dip with 3 Borghese polishes for the bargain price of £6. As I'd never used or read many reviews on this brand, it was a bit of a risk. However, I'm pleasantly surprised. My only gripe is that all 3 of the polishes I received are pink/lilac, but never mind.

First up: Flora Peony

Pretty pastel pink with a slight shimmer to it. It's very sheer so it needs 3-4 coats to become opaque. I've got this one on underneath OPI 'I Lily Love You' and it looks so pretty. The formula is quite thin and the brush feels quite cheap so I can see why they're not expensive polishes.

 Next: Positano Petal

Again, this is a very sheer polish but gives a lovely shimmer to natural nails. There isn't a great deal of colour so it would be a nice polish for days where you don't fancy bright nails and just want a slight sheen. I'd wear this with glitter layered over the top to make it a bit more special.

Lastly, Palazzo Lilac.

Personally I think this is more of a pinky pearlescent polish rather than lilac like the name suggests. Again, like the previous two, it's quite translucent so needs a couple of coats to let the colour com through. The bottle suggests 1-2 coats, but I'd suggest 3.

L-R: Flora Peony, Positano Petal, Palazzo Lilac.

Overall, I like all 3 polishes but probably wouldn't purchase Borghese polishes again, purely because the formula is so thin and the brush doesn't feel great.

Have you had experience with Borghese polishes? Did you have the same issues?
